Headmasters interested in the programme may sign up by October 1 by filling out this online form
The Programme for the Transformation of Schools in Romania will have interventions tailored to the needs of each participating school
Bucharest, September 4, 2023. AVE (The Association for Values in Education) is strengthening its presence and involvement in the transformation of the educational system and launching The Programme for the Transformation of Schools in Romania, a vast initiative as a means for it to support, in a more practical manner, schools in Romania. The programme integrates the expertise perfected under previously run projects and is structured so as to allow enrolled schools to receive support based on specific needs.
The Programme for the Transformation of Schools in Romania has a three-year span and is intended for all the school units from urban and rural areas. Headmasters interested in the programme may sign up by October 1, 2023. “Building upon the experience we have amassed so far by means of the programmes and projects we have been running year after year at AVE, we realised that we can help even better the schools in Romania if we aggregate this expertise under the scope of a single programme. As such, we will be able to assist each school depending on its specific needs, starting from an initial discovery stage, which will show us the areas where the school already performs well, as well as those that may demand growth pathways. We are referring here to a broad range of needs, such as developing the headmasters and the teachers’ professional skills, creating a continuous growth culture, boosting the level of cooperation among teachers and, in particular, support in developing the children’s skills. The experience of recent years shows us that the transformation schools need stems primarily from the headmasters and their teams, these being the catalysts of change, which is precisely why we focus our attention so as to give them the support they require”, said Silvia Toth, AVE Educational Programmes Manager.
A grant of 60,000 Lei a year for school units that enrol in The Programme for the Transformation of Schools in Romania
It is expected that kindergartens, primary, middle and high schools from localities with diverse social and economic levels will enrol in the programme, whereas the main criterion for entering the programme will be the school’s motivation and its drive to effect change with a positive impact upon the students.
The cost for a school unit’s participation in the programme is 60,000 lei for one year, however, with the partner companies’ support, AVE makes available for public schools 200 grants. Private schools are eligible to take part in the programme, but not eligible to receive grants.
Schools can find out more about the programme by signing up for an information webinar
Schools interested in applying are invited to attend an explanatory webinar, where there will be a detailed presentation of The Programme for the Transformation of Schools in Romania and its benefits for the school, by filling out this online form no later than October 1, 2023.
Those who attend the information session will be able to attend the AVE masterclass on learning for transformation, which will be available as an online learning experience to focus on tackling topics such as leadership for oneself and adults from a school can create a development experience both for themselves and for each and every student at their school. Following this masterclass, the school can formally enter The Programme for the Transformation of Schools in Romania.
The Programme for the Transformation of Schools in Romania, developed by Romanian and foreign education experts
The Programme for the Transformation of Schools in Romania is developed in partnership cu education specialists from Romania, Australia and The United States of America. It comprises elements perfected via the Leadership and Educational Management Academy, Edu Networks and HumanKind programmes, while also taking inspiration from international practices. The goal of this programme is to contribute to the extensive transformation of the schools in Romania so that the students should be able to achieve visible progress in each of the eight key skillsets, such as: literacy, digital abilities and social-emotional skills, as identified by the European Union Council as necessary in order to allow personal fulfilment, a healthy and sustainable life, employability, civil involvement and social inclusion.
