Bucharest, 10 august 2023. The Association for Values in Education (AVE) is extending the application deadline for The 2023 Headmasters of the Year Awards Gala. As such, headmasters and deputy headmasters from public and private high, middle and primary schools and kindergartens in Romania can still apply for one of the four awards until August 22 (23.59). Applications are submitted online.
The Headmasters of the Year Awards Gala is a unique event that praises with standing ovations the success stories of educational leaders who make a difference for children and transform the schools in Romania. At the same time, this is the only event that brings together school and business leaders, representatives of the non-profit and the public sectors, determined to effect the change required for the future of the schools in our country.
The Association for Values in Education has been awarding, since 2017, school headmasters who, through their efforts and the projects they implement, change the schools and the communities they belong to. This year will witness the seventh edition of The Headmasters of the Year Awards Gala, set to take place on October 9, at the Romanian Athene.
Awards in excess of 14,000 Euro and access to the AVE programme for the winners of The 2023 Headmasters of the Year Awards Gala
The Headmasters of the Year Awards Gala is a manes to acknowledge the school headmaster’s strategic role in the process of modernising education. AVE awards 4 school headmasters under the following categories: Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Equal opportunities, as well as the grand award, the 2023 Headmaster of the Year. For each category, a prize amounting to 3,500 Euro will be granted in order to support the headmasters with their ongoing projects at their schools or to launch a new project. Additionally, they receive a spot in AVE’s programme for the transformation of schools in Romania.
Applying for it entails filling out, by August 22, 23.59, a form available online, where each headmaster can apply for no more than two categories of awards of the three possible ones – Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Equal opportunities. Each registered headmaster is automatically considered for the grand award, the 2023 Headmaster of the Year.
Furthermore, anyone who knows a school headmaster with extraordinary results can encourage the latter to apply by filling out a recommendation form, which takes 5 minutes at most.
Selection and judging for The Headmasters of the Year Awards Gala take place over several stages, for which specialists from various areas have been brought in. The judging committees assigned to each award category shall comprise at least seven members, most of them business sector representatives, recruitment and education specialists, as well as one representative of the students and one journalist.
The Headmasters of the Year Awards Gala has reached its seventh edition and is intended to become a tradition. The event, organised by The Association for Values in Education, is a manes to provide support and recognition to school headmasters, but also to create an environment where education is appreciated and capitalised upon, inspiring and mobilising the entire community and leaders from various sectors to get involved in transforming education.
